54 percent of applicants to Illinois Institute of Technology were admitted for fall 2017

At Illinois Institute of Technology, 87 percent of undergraduate students are traditional students - age 24 or younger - and 69 percent are male, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The four-year private not-for-profit institution in Chicago enrolled 7,164 students in fall 2017, including 2,900 in undergraduate and 4,264 in graduate programs, data shows. 7.6 percent of undergraduates transferred from another college or university.

57 percent of undergraduates are residents of Illinois, and 27 percent are residents of other states. 14 percent are citizens of foreign countries.

The undergraduate student body is comprised mostly of students who identify as white (33 percent) and Hispanic or Latino (16 percent).

The school admitted 54 percent of the 4,705 students who applied for fall 2017. Of those who were admitted, 19 percent enrolled.
