95 percent of applicants to DeVry University-Illinois were admitted for fall 2017

At DeVry University-Illinois, 80 percent of undergraduate students are nontraditional students - age 25 or older - and 61 percent are female, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The four-year private for-profit institution in Chicago enrolled 16,964 students in fall 2017, including 12,515 in undergraduate and 4,449 in graduate programs, data shows. 30.3 percent of undergraduates transferred from another college or university.

14 percent of undergraduates are residents of Illinois, and 85 percent are residents of other states.

The undergraduate student body is comprised mostly of students who identify as white (46 percent) and Black or African American (19 percent).

The school admitted 95 percent of the 1,157 students who applied for fall 2017. Of those who were admitted, 79 percent enrolled.
