The Northwest Side (NWS) GOP Club, which touts itself as union-friendly, has added another leader with union ties to its ranks.

The club recently announced Erin Jones was appointed precinct committeeman for Chicago’s 39th Ward.

“Erin is a rock-star and a loyal member of the NWS GOP Club.” club officials said. “As a first-responder family, Erin and her husband serve the community both on and off-duty. We are happy to have her in a leadership role.”

As a committeeman, Jones will represent the GOP voters of the precinct at the county level.

“I grew up in Rogers Park and moved to the Northwest Side nine years ago,” Jones said. “I've been a Chicago police officer for the last 15 years, spending 10 of those years in patrol on the Westside of the City. I actually started working for the city when I was a teenager as a lifeguard in Rogers Park.”

Jones is married to a Chicago firefighter and has two daughters. She was appointed by Matt Podgorski, NWS GOP Club chairman and 39th ward committeeman.
