Over the last four years, 146 individual donors living in Mount Vernon gave $176,270.79 to political candidates, according to a Chicago City Wire analysis of state campaign finance data.
The analysis includes data from the Illinois State Board of Elections for cities where individual donors contributed $10,000 or more to campaigns since the start of 2015, when most states last held elections for major elected offices.
