Cook County Hospital issued the following announcement on Nov. 15.
Great segment on gun violence as a public health crisis via WGN TV. In an average year, CCH treats about 5,000 new trauma patients at Stroger – more than a 1,000 of these patients are victims of gun violence. And increasingly victims of semi-automatic or automatic guns which do far more harm than a pistol.
