Former AG Ryan's son sends letter to Chicago voters supporting Joyce for mayor

Vote341

The son of former Illinois Attorney General Jim Ryan has penned a letter on behalf of his father that makes clear his support for Jerry Joyce in his run for mayor of Chicago.

“I am writing this letter at the request of my father,” John Ryan writes in the letter sent to Chicago voters who go to the polls on Feb. 26. “Jerry Joyce is a candidate and we are asking you to review and consider his candidacy. He has set out a detailed plan of fiscal responsibility which will enable Chicago to resolve its financial difficulties without raising taxes.”

The younger Ryan made it clear that the reasons for supporting Joyce don’t end there. In addition to serving as attorney general, Jim Ryan ran against then congressman Rod Blagojevich as the Republican nominee for governor in 2002.

“At the time it was clear what Blagojevich was doing and yet few outside the Republican Party called him out,” John Ryan said of “the egregious deceptions and blatant lies” he claims marked Blagojevich's campaign. “But there was one person who did speak out and that was Jerry Joyce.”

In his letter, Ryan encouraged voters to learn more about Joyce and where he stands on key issues by visiting his website at www.JerryJoyce2019.com.
