The campaign committee of comptroller candidate Susana Mendoza, Friends for Susana Mendoza For Comptroller, returned a $500 contribution from Globetrotters International Inc. on Sept. 9, according to the Illinois State Board of Elections.

Candidates sometimes refuse or return contributions because they do not want their campaign to be affiliated with the donor. Globetrotters International Inc. has not made any other contributions to Susana Mendoza in the past 12 months.
