Chicago alderman candidate Leslie A Hairston returns $5,000 contribution from Smart Hotels/Olympia Chicago LLC

The campaign committee of Chicago alderman candidate Leslie A Hairston, Friends of Leslie A Hairston, returned a $5,000 contribution from Smart Hotels/Olympia Chicago LLC on Dec. 8, according to the Illinois State Board of Elections.

Candidates sometimes refuse or return contributions because they do not want their campaign to be affiliated with the donor. Smart Hotels/Olympia Chicago LLC has not made any other contributions to Leslie A Hairston in the past 12 months.
