The campaign committee of commissioner candidate Richard Boykin, Friends of Richard Boykin, returned a $1,750 contribution from Barnes & Thornburg LLP on July 14, according to the Illinois State Board of Elections.

Candidates sometimes refuse or return contributions because they do not want their campaign to be affiliated with the donor. Barnes & Thornburg LLP has not made any other contributions to Richard Boykin in the past 12 months.
