The campaign committee of alderman candidate Patrick J O'Connor, Citizens for Patrick O'Connor, returned a $9,100 contribution from Hill Mechanical Corp. on July 11, according to the Illinois State Board of Elections.

Candidates sometimes refuse or return contributions because they do not want their campaign to be affiliated with the donor. Hill Mechanical Corp. has not made any other contributions to Patrick J O'Connor in the past 12 months.
