West Garfield Park home prices fall in the second half of 2017

The median sale price of a home sold in the second half of 2017 in West Garfield Park, a Chicago neighborhood, fell by $13,500 while total sales increased by 23.6%, according to BlockShopper.com.

From July through December of 2017, there were 68 homes sold, with a median sale price of $59,500 - a 18.5% decrease over the $73,000 median sale price for the same period of the previous year. There were 55 homes sold in West Garfield Park in the second half of 2016.

The median sales tax in West Garfield Park for 2017 was $3,294. In 2016, the median sales tax was $3,178. This marks an increase of 3.7%. The effective property tax rate, using the median property tax and median home sale price as the basis, is 5.5%.
