Goose Island home prices rise in 2017

The median sale price of a home sold in 2017 in Goose Island, a Chicago neighborhood, rose by $23,250 while total sales increased by 14.5%, according to BlockShopper.com.

From January through December of 2017, there were 126 homes sold, with a median sale price of $425,750 - a 5.8% increase over the $402,500 median sale price for the previous year. There were 110 homes sold in Goose Island in 2016.

The median sales tax in Goose Island for 2017 was $6,039. In 2016, the median sales tax was $5,738. This marks an increase of 5.2%. The effective property tax rate, using the median property tax and median home sale price as the basis, is 1.4%.
