Avondale home prices rise in 2017

The median sale price of a home sold in 2017 in Avondale, a Chicago neighborhood, rose by $30,000 while total sales decreased by 19%, according to BlockShopper.com.

From January through December of 2017, there were 234 homes sold, with a median sale price of $365,000 - a 9% increase over the $335,000 median sale price for the previous year. There were 289 homes sold in Avondale in 2016.

The median sales tax in Avondale for 2017 was $5,787. In 2016, the median sales tax was $5,524. This marks an increase of 4.8%. The effective property tax rate, using the median property tax and median home sale price as the basis, is 1.6%.
