South Chicago home prices rise in February 2017

The median sale price of a home sold in February 2017 in South Chicago, a Chicago neighborhood, rose by $14,500 while total sales decreased by 12.5%, according to BlockShopper.com.

In February 2017, there were 21 homes sold, with a median sale price of $41,000 - a 54.7% increase over the $26,500 median sale price for the same period of the previous year. There were 24 homes sold in South Chicago in February 2016.

The median sales tax in South Chicago for 2017 was $2,258. In 2016, the median sales tax was $2,204. This marks an increase of 2.4%. The effective property tax rate, using the median property tax and median home sale price as the basis, is 5.5%.
