Former state university employee Yasui Dunn paid in $10K to pension fund, could collect $324K in retirement

Former state university employee Jessica Yasui Dunn, who retired in July 2017, saved $9,651 toward a pension over 3 years working for state universities, State Universities Retirement System of Illinois records show.

Over 30 years of retirement, Yasui Dunn would collect as much as $324,274, according to a projection by Local Government Information Services (LGIS), which publishes Chicago City Wire.

The projection assumes Yasui Dunn received $6,816 in the first year of retirement, then 3 percent annual increases thereafter, compounded.

After 2 years of retirement, Yasui Dunn will have already received $13,836 in retirement benefits, or more than the sum total of the retiree's contributions to the state pension fund.
