Former state university employee Brisebois Kinsella paid in $15K to pension fund, could collect $908K in retirement

Former state university employee Liette Brisebois Kinsella, who retired in July 2018, saved $14,840 toward a pension over 6 years working for state universities, State Universities Retirement System of Illinois records show.

Over 30 years of retirement, Brisebois Kinsella would collect as much as $908,132, according to a projection by Local Government Information Services (LGIS), which publishes Chicago City Wire.

The projection assumes Brisebois Kinsella received $19,088 in the first year of retirement, then 3 percent annual increases thereafter, compounded.

After 1 years of retirement, Brisebois Kinsella will have already received $19,088 in retirement benefits, or more than the sum total of the retiree's contributions to the state pension fund.
