Q4 2018 Recap: Parolees in Cook County convicted of crimes against justice

There were 60 offenders convicted of crimes against justice released on parole in Cook County during the fourth quarter of 2018, according to Illinois Department of Corrections data obtained by the Chicago City Wire.

The data shows that 57 men and three women were among the parolees. The median age of the parolees sentenced for crimes against justice was 35. The youngest parolee was a 20-year-old man sentenced in 2018, and the oldest was a 62-year-old woman sentenced in 2017.

The offender who had been incarcerated the longest was Patrick Anderson. He was convicted in 2015 when he was 30 years old. He is now 34.

Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.
