4.0 Embedded Staff Program (ESP)
CMAP has embarked on a three-year demonstration project where CMAP staff will be placed in capacity constrained communities as “Embedded Staff Planners” (ESPs) to serve as temporary, part-time staff planners providing flexible support for existing local government staff. The first two communities selected to participate in this project are Calumet Park and Sauk Village. The ESPs for these communities will give a presentation on what they have learned thus far and discuss the draft Action Plans they have developed to guide their work. Staff would like to hear input from the Committee around the following questions:
After reviewing the action plans, are there any activities that you expected to see but didn’t?
Are the right partners listed for each activity; are any missing?
How can we measure success and the overall impact of the program activities?
What selection criteria should we consider when identifying and assessing candidate municipalities for future ESP groups? ACTION REQUESTED: Discussion
