Congratulations to Thelma M. Brookins on receiving the Leola Spann Community Service Award. I would like to thank you for your years of service and contributions to the community. Your activism and outreach has played a vital role in making this community a better place.
Mrs. Spann was my mentor and is one of the reasons why I am an elected official today! For years she has dedicated her time to serving the community and I am elated that she continues to be recognized on Chicago’s Westside! You are fulfilling Mrs. Spann’s legacy and I am proud of all of your accomplishment!
