Sen. Omar Aquino (D-2) sponsored 24 bills in the second quarter of 2019, 11 more than the average Illinois state senator, and was added as a co-sponsor on 33 bills, three less than the average, according to a Chicago City Wire analysis of data made available by the Illinois General Assembly.

During the second quarter, 59 senators sponsored legislation, with Sen. John J. Cullerton (D-6) sponsoring the most with 45 bills. There were 59 senators that co-sponsored legislation, with Sen. Jacqueline Y. Collins (D-16) co-sponsoring 104 bills, more than any other senator.
