I wish I could offer up a good explanation why people of all races, colors and creed are incapable of learning from history.
I can’t.
Human folly being a constant throughout our troubled history is the most probable explanation for our seemingly collective inability to recognize that which stares us plainly in our faces, namely, the truth.
The truth I refer to today , Leftism, is a deeply flawed political movement, one which lends itself to evil and to the heinous acts which Leftism embraces as a necessary feature of attaining it goal of suborning human liberty to the interests of the State.
Too many citizens in our alleged enlightened time bend their willing ears and empty heads to listen to Leftist agitprop; they embrace demonstrably horrible ideas dressed in noble intentions but which have never delivered on their promises.
Leftist ideology is unquestionably evil and those who accept its honied lies are liberals. Liberals are the poor saps who accept the Leftists’ canards which are disguised as noble intentions and who become debilitated once confronted with facts, the Left’s kryptonite.
The Left’s most insidious lie concerns abortion and the lie is this: abortion is about giving women control over their bodies.
Spare me your indignant cries about me being a male, and as such, not being entitled to an opinion about, much less control over, women’s bodies. I don’t want to talk about women’s bodies, much less about controlling them.
For the Left, abortion is about control. Planned parenthood founder Margaret Sanger was a noxious racist who promoted abortion as a means to control the population growth of such undesirables as African American and immigrants who were, in her view, diluting the precious White Anglo-Saxon stock which in
her view had not only the right but the duty to rule our country.
And abortion is about money, big money. Planned Parenthood makes most of its money from its abortion clinics, though it also makes a tidy sum ($500 million a year) from the American taxpayers.
Bill Clinton, the Leftist poster boy for all things progressive, once said abortion “…should be safe, legal and rare” though of course it is none of those things, as the appalling facts surrounding Dr. Kermit Gosnell attest.
Gosnell was a Philadelphia abortionist and serial killer who performed thousands of abortions, many of them late-term and in 2011 he was tried, convicted and was sentenced to life in prison, convicted for three counts of first-degree murder, one count manslaughter, 21 felony counts of illegal late-term abortions and 211 counts of violating Pennsylvania’s 24-hour consent law.
More specifically, Gosnell killed at least seven newborns by severing their spinal cords with a scissors AFTER THEY WERE BORN ALIVE.
How could this level of evil be inflicted upon humanity for decades?
Because empty headed liberals prefer wrapping themselves in self-righteous virtue signaling rather than the more challenging demands of facing harsh truths and being appalled by the evil they have supported.
Gosnell is no outlier; he ran a very large and very profitable abortion center, one which failed the most basic sanitary requirement for a veterinary clinic much less a medical facility intended to provide a “safe” medical procedure.
The Left, and its liberal minions, ignored Gosnell altogether because he did not support their narrative and if any liberal did comment it was along the lines of “Well, yes, Dr. Gosnell was an unfortunate case but his case is an outlier.”
But it wasn’t.
Let us now consider the case of the late and unlamented Dr. Ulrich Klopfer, Indiana’s most prolific abortionist. In 2015 the Indiana State Department of Health cited Klopfer’s clinic for failing to register its patients, failing to have policies in place for medical abortions, and a governing body to determine policies
After Klopfer died earlier this month, his attorney discovered this fine physician had warehoused the remains of 2,246 medically preserved fetal corpses in his garage.
Thank God a crime this heinous and grisly could not have possibly been perpetrated before.
When Indiana public health authorities were investigating Klopfer, the Chicago Tribune reported on story and herewith are quotes from the Tribine’s story, quotes which show a tolerance for depravity so pervasive one can only be appalled:
“Until more information is released, it’s hard to say if Klopfer did anything ethically or medically wrong” said Dr. Ellen Stecker, a retired family doctor and “vocal about women’s reproductive health issues.”
She went on to say “We should not jump to horrible, negative conclusions.”
Klopfer told the Chicago Tribune in 2015 that Indiana state officials were targeting him. And while all this was occurring, another large abortion provider, Woman’s Health Alliance clinic in South Bend, was alleging their failure to gain state licensing was also political.
Thankfully, they had South Bend Mayor (and Democratic presidential candidate) Pete (“life starts at the first breath” ) Buttigieg on their side. A federal district court just ruled the Woman’s Health Alliance Clinic can continue to provide this “essential” service.

What have we learned from all of this?
Absolutely nothing.
This is yet another example of “nothing is ever enough” for the Left.
While the Democrats obsessively blame President Trump for the great divide that exists in our country, we have the liberal left and their mouthpiece, the mainstream media, warning us not to “rush to judgement” of a maniac who was storing the corpses of more than 2000 dead fetuses in his garage.
One of my closest friends finishes most political discussions with the phrase.” We are doomed.”
