City of Chicago Finance Audit and Budget Committee met August 14.
Here is the minutes as provided by the committee:
AGENDA: The posted agenda for the meeting can be found at www.transitchicago.com, “About CTA”, “Transit Board Meetings”, “Meeting Notices, Agendas, and Minutes”, “8/14/2019”, “Committee on Finance Audit, and Budget.
ROLL CALL: Chairman Silva, Irvine, Peterson, Alva Rosales, and Miller. There was a quorum of five committee members present.
COMMITTEE ACTION: The committee reviewed the Finance report and approved the July 17th, 2019 committee minutes.
Then, after extensive review by the committee, Chairman Silvae asked for a motion to place all recommended approved items--the ordinances and the five contracts-- on the omnibus for Board approval. Moved and seconded, the motion to recommend Board approval of the omnibus was approved with five yes votes.
The approved items are as follows:
1 An ordinance amending authorizing free rides for the first day of school in 2019 and 2020.
2 An ordinance authorizing a special pricing pilot program at the Authority’s Cumberland and Rosemont Park and Ride locations.
3 An ordinance authorizing a sublease to Decennial Group, LLC of a portion of property located at 120 North Racine Avenue, Chicago, Illinois.
4 An ordinance consenting to a further sublease of a portion of Suite 1150, located at 567 West Lake Street, Chicago, Illinois.
5 An ordinance amending the Chicago Transit Authority Procurement Policy and Procedures to include a contracting careers opportunities policy.
6 An ordinance authorizing an agreement with City Year Inc. for volunteer service activities.

MOTION TO ADJOURN: Chairman Silva asked for a motion to adjourn the Finance, Audit, and Budget Committee meeting of August 14th, 2019. After the motion was moved, the motion was approved by unanimous voice vote.
