Village of Brighton Village Board met Sept. 26.
Here is the minutes provided by the board:
1. Call to Order: Mayor Roberts called the meeting to order at 6:30 p.m.
2 Pledge of Allegiance
3. Roll Call: Present: Fred Benz, Marcella Wilfong, Jamie Lake-Boyd, Aaron Mead and John Bramley.
Also present: Mayor Roberts, Village Clerk Cynthia Tucker, and Treasurer Leanna Akers.
4 Certification of Service of Notification of Special Meeting.Jamie Lake Boyd made a motion to approve the service notification, 2nd by Fred Benz, Roll Call: 5 Yeas; 0 Nays. Motion Carried.
5. Passage and Approval ofan Ordinance Imposing a Municipal Cannabis Retailers' Occupation Tax in the amount of three percent (3%). Jamie Lake Boyd made a motion to approve and passage of Ordinance #2019-11, 2nd by Marcella Wilfong. Roll Call: 5 Yeas; 0 Nays. Motion Carried.
6 Formal approval of contract with Circus Company. Mayor Roberts explained the Kelly Miller circus is now closed and will not be having a circus in our town on October 3, 2019.
7. Adjournment. John Bramley made a motion to adjourn at 6:35 p.m., 2nd by Jamie Lake-Boyd.
