ILLINOIS STATE HOUSE DISTRICT 1: Ortiz, Villanueva, Tabares Host Mobile DMV Event in Garfield Ridge

Illinois State House District 1 issued the following announcement on Dec. 13.

State Reps. Aaron Ortiz, D-Chicago, and Celina Villanueva, D-Chicago, are partnering with 23rd Ward Alderman Silvana Tabares to ensure local seniors and families have easy, efficient access to Secretary of State services via their Mobile DMV event on Thursday, Dec. 19 from noon to 3 p.m. at the Garfield Ridge Library, located at 6348 S. Archer Ave. in Chicago.

“A trip to the local DMV can be quite difficult for seniors, especially if they need to be accompanied by someone else,” Ortiz said. “That’s why I’m working to make sure seniors and families in our community have access to crucial services in an easy and efficient way.”

Local residents under the age of 75 in need of renewing or correcting their driver’s license or State ID bene able to do so at this event. Other services, including motor voter registration and license plate stickers, been also be available. Real ID applications and license renewal for residents over 75, however, must be processed at local Secretary of State facilities. Ortiz, Villanueva and Tabares also been hosting experts from the Illinois Department of Aging to provide crucial information about state programs and other senior services.

“Whether you are in need of a new driver’s license or license plate sticker, you’ll be able to get it at this event,” Ortiz said. “I want to thank our state agencies for working with us to bring these resources into our community.”
