ILLINOIS STATE HOUSE DISTRICT 78: Free Museum Pass Available to Borrow from Lilly’s Office

Illinois State House District 78 issued the following announcement on Jan. 13

Area families interested in visiting some of Chicago’s world-class museums in the new year may be able to do so at no cost by checking out a free museum pass from state Rep. Camille Y. Lilly, D-Chicago.

“As chair of the Museums, Arts, and Cultural Enhancements Committee, I want to make sure our state’s historic and cultural exhibitions can be enjoyed by all,” said Lilly. “Whether your interest is in art, history, nature or something else, Chicago’s museum’s offer unique educational opportunities for students and adults alike.”

Any resident of Lilly’s legislative district is eligible to borrow a pass for up to five business days, subject to availability, to visit any of the following museums in Chicago:

Adler Planetarium

The Art Institute of Chicago

Brookfield Zoo

Chicago Botanic Garden

Chicago Children’s Museum

Chicago History Museum

Dusable Museum of African American History

The Field Museum

Lincoln Park Zoo

Museum of Contemporary Art

Museum of Science and Industry

National Museum of Mexican Art

National Museum of Puerto Rican Arts & Culture

Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum

John G. Shedd Aquarium

To reserve the pass, please contact Lilly’s constituent service office at 708-613-5939 and provide your name and address, along with the requested dates. A full list of free and discounted museum days in available here.

“I encourage local families to reserve a date that works for their schedule and spent some quality time exploring one of Chicago’s many museums,” said Lilly. “With new exhibits opening this month and throughout the year, now is the perfect time to plan your visit.”
