Vaughn Occupational High aide diagnosed with coronavirus

State and local officials recently confirmed that a Chicago Public Schools aide has been diagnosed with the coronavirus.

According to Mayor Lori Lightfoot, the confirmed case is a Chicago resident in her 50s. The patient is a special education classroom assistant. She teaches at the Vaughn Occupational High School located on the North Side, which is a school for students with special needs.

NBC reported the woman recently traveled on the Grand Princess, the cruise ship on which 21 passengers were confirmed to have the coronavirus.

After the cruise, the woman returned to her home on Feb. 24. She was last at work on March 2.
