The data shows that eight men and two women were released in Chicago zip code. The median age of the parolees was 35. The youngest parolee was a 19-year-old man convicted of a crime involving drugs in 2019, and the oldest was a 58-year-old man convicted of a property crime in 2019.
The offender who had been incarcerated the longest was Maurice Timms. He was convicted of a crime involving one or more weapons in 2006, when he was 31 years old. He is now 45.
Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.
