City of Wheaton City Council will meet June 1

City of Wheaton City Council will meet on Monday, June 1.

Here is the agenda provided by the council:

In compliance with Governor Pritzker’s Executive Order No. 2020-07 and subsequent Executive Orders prohibiting gatherings of ten persons or more, the public shall not be allowed to attend the City Council meeting in person. The meeting will be conducted “virtually” and will be live streamed and recorded. The public can join the meeting and make comments only during the Citizens to be Heard section of the meeting by calling 312-626-6799 or by logging onto Zoom.us and providing Meeting ID 885 9123 8517 and Password 276136.

Public comments can also be provided by submitting your comments in advance through email, voicemail, or online. If so requested, comments submitted will be read into the record during the Citizens to be Heard section of the meeting. Comments can be submitted as follows:

l Complete and submit a Public Comment Form available on the City’s website at www.wheaton.il.us/publiccomment before 5:00 p.m. on Monday, June 1, 2020.

l Email your comments to the City Clerk at sbarrett-hagen@wheaton.il.us before 5:00 p.m. on Monday, June 1, 2020. Include the subject line “Public Comment for City Council Meeting. ”

l Call 630-260-2012 to leave a voicemail message for the City Council Meeting before 5:00 p.m. on Monday, June 1, 2020.

l Attend the meeting virtually at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, June 1 and share your comments during the meeting.

The opportunity to speak to the City Council is provided for those who have a question or comment on an agenda item or a City of Wheaton issue. Unlike other City Council meetings, for this and other virtual meetings, citizens will be given an opportunity to make comments during this portion of the meeting only.

Please note that civility and a sense of decorum will be strictly followed. All speakers must address their comments to the Mayor. Speakers shall be courteous and should not make statements that are personally disrespectful to members of the City Council.

To make a public comment, you must request to be called on. If you are joining using a computer, click on the “Raise Hand” button, and you will receive a notification when you have been recognized to speak and are unmuted. If you are joining using a phone, “Raise your hand” by pressing *9. You will receive a notification when you have been unmuted and are able to speak. Please ensure you are in a quiet place with no background noise.

When called upon, please announce your name and address before commenting. All public comments are limited to five (5) minutes, and each citizen will be permitted to speak only once.

Members of the public were also given the opportunity to provide comments prior to this meeting to be read by the City Clerk. We will begin with a reading of the previously submitted public comments for this meeting.
