@SecondCityCop shared a graphic attributed to @w_h_thompson that compared the weekend’s statistics with those from the previous six years.
Titled “Loot and Shoot weekend,” the graphic read:
“It was just a week or two ago we were told that peaceful protests were 'unacceptable health risks' and could kill thousands as a result. Rioting must impart natural herd immunity. CWBChicago has photos of Saturday’s and Sunday’s stupidity.

The Chicago Sun-Times reports that 23 people were killed and 61 others were wounded by gun violence during a weekend where protests, riots and looting swept through the city after the Minneapolis police killing of George Floyd on May 25.
According to Chicago Police Superintendent David Brown, 17 of the homicides occurred on May 31, a claim confirmed by the county medical examiner, who said three homicides occurred at unknown locations.
After protests turned violent on May 30, the city imposed a curfew of 10 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 11 p.m. on Friday and Saturday.
The weekend before, the Chicago Sun-Times notes that the deadliest Memorial Day weekend in five years resulted in 39 wounded and 10 dead.
The Chicago Police Department has also delayed the release of May crime statistics, “in light of recent activity and to ensure we have the most accurate statistics,” the newspaper wrote.
