Illinois State House District 20 issued the following announcement on June 8.
State Representative Brad Stephens (R-Chicago) will be hosting a blood drive in partnership with the Salvation Army of Norridge and the Red Cross. The event will take place on Thursday, June 25th at the Salvation Army in Norridge, 8354 W. Foster, from 12:30-5:30pm.
Rep. Stephens is exited to host the blood to help increase the supply of blood in Illinois. “Due to COVID the entire country is currently experiencing a severe blood shortage. Unfortunately, the pandemic isn’t hurting the supply of already rare blood types,” said Stephens. “Your donations at this blood drive can help improve the supply and save a life.”
As a safety precaution, donations will be by appointment only (no walk-ins) and face coverings will be required. Blood donors will also be given a free COVID-19 antibody test. To make an appointment, please visit: https://donateblood.lifesource.org and Enter code: 053B (Zero-Five-Three-B).
Spots are limited for blood donation, so interested residents should make an appointment as soon as possible. However, donations are in high demand during this pandemic.
