ILLINOIS STATE HOUSE DISTRICT 35: July Update 2020

Announcement2

Illinois State House District 35 issued the following announcement on July 3.

On Tuesday, May 5th, Governor Pritzker released the Restore Illinois plan. The 5-phased plan sets guidelines and clarifications for business in Illinois. Under the Restore Illinois framework, certain businesses and activities are allowed to resume in Phase 4 with IDPH-approved safety guidance in place.

Phase 4, which went into effect on Friday. June 26th, further opens the state. The rate of infection among those surveillance tested and the number of patients admitted to the hospital continues to decline, therefore gatherings of 50 people or fewer are allowed, restaurants and bars reopen, travel resumes, child care and schools reopen under guidance from the Illinois Department of Public Health. Face coverings and social distancing are the norm.

Included in phase 4 is the opening of schools again across the state. IDPH guidelines state that face coverings (mask or shield) are required at all times inside, except for eating or band practice. There is a 50 person max for each space; if the space is big enough and can fit more, then the two groups of 50 have to be at least 30 feet apart. There will be temperature testing or COVID-19 screenings for each person upon entering the building. Students must stay six feet apart outside in order to not wear a face covering. If someone is suspected or diagnosed with COVID-19, those who came in close contact (six feet apart for more than 15 minutes) need to self-quarantine for 14 days. Buses will have a 50 person max with face coverings at all times.
