56 percent of applicants to Northeastern Illinois University were admitted for fall 2018

At Northeastern Illinois University, 57 percent of undergraduate students are traditional students - age 24 or younger - and 56 percent are female, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The four-year public institution in Chicago enrolled 8,103 students in fall 2018, including 6,390 in undergraduate and 1,713 in graduate programs, data shows. 16.3 percent of undergraduates transferred from another college or university.

98 percent of undergraduates are residents of Illinois, and 1 percent are residents of other states. 1 percent are citizens of foreign countries.

The undergraduate student body is comprised mostly of students who identify as Hispanic or Latino (37 percent) and white (28 percent).

The school admitted 56 percent of the 5,968 students who applied for fall 2018. Of those who were admitted, 14 percent enrolled.
