FedEd has refused to respond to request for comment from Chicago City wire regarding the arrest of employee Shaundric Mann.
Mann, 24, who has been identified as a FedEx employee, is accused of terrorizing The Loop and striking a police officer as part of a violent weekend of protest in Chicago.
FedEx’s employee code of conduct does not address employee conduct outside of the workplace.

Multiple arrests were reported by the Chicago Police Department Saturday, Aug. 15 amid violent clashes between protestors and police which left 17 police officers and 2 protestors injured. The protests had been planned to advocate for defunding the CPD and redirecting of funds to south and west sides of the city
Mann was one of two dozen people arrested during the chaos.
Numerous acts of looting and violence were reported and the CPD has reached out to the public to help bring those accountable to justice. Chicago Police Superintendent David O. Brown said rioters in Mann’s group were using pepper spray on police officers. Mann was part of a group who were ordered to stay back and broke through a line charging the police officers. He allegedly struck an officer with a bullhorn in the face an injured the wrist of another.
The riot was not related to a peaceful protest that started on the south side earlier in the day and ended without incident. Rioting and looting on weekends over the past months has been so pervasive the Chicago Police Department recently launched a video campaign aimed at unveiling the identities of those victimizing neighborhoods.
Several images captured at the scenes of those crimes are being circulated by the Chicago Police Department. One of which recently resulted in the arrest of a looter who accused of breaking into an ATM with a hammer (https://www.oann.com/chicago-mayor-lightfoot-defends-police-dept-protesters-after-demonstrations-turn-violent/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=chicago-mayor-lightfoot-defends-police-dept-protesters-after-demonstrations-turn-violent).
Mann is a self-described “artist musician” according to his Facebook profile.
Twitter users have not been receptive to a campaign to free Mann.
Mann is listed by the Chicago Police Department as a resident 14500 block of Hoxie Ave. While Mann’s listed address is the far south suburbs he and others are accused of terrorizing the Loop in the Aug. 15 protest. Businesses in the area where Mann lives have also been vandalized and looted. It is unclear if he had a part in those riots.
The BLM Chicago movement released a statement defending rioters and looters as recently as August 10.
