A columnist thinks Chicagoans are mulling if Gov. J.B. Pritzker’s career in politics is coming to an end.

According to Mark Konkol of Patch, Chicagoans believe that their politicians should adhere to the saying “Don’t make no waves. Don’t back no losers,” if they want to keep on serving in office.

Unfortunately, according to him, Pritzker is guilty on both counts.

The example he showed of Pritzker making waves was when the governor launched a hefty campaign worth $56 million to convince Chicagoans to approve an income tax hike that would make it even harder for them to make ends meet.

Konkol cites another example of Pritzker making waves when he tried to strong-arm Mayor Lori Lightfoot to get on board with his coronavirus vaccine policies. It didn’t work and public health officials even said that Pritzker’s plan would make it more difficult for senior citizens to get their shots.

And when Pritzker tried to lobby for his candidate, Chicago Ald. Michelle Harris, and have her be the state party boss after House Speaker Michael Madigan, members of the Democratic Party Central Committee of Illinois did anything but support him.

Konkol said Chicagoans smell the blood on the water and they’re now thinking that Pritzker is a one-term leader. Surprisingly, Harris seems to be a strong contender because she avoided Pritzker’s mistakes and was even appointed Cook County Democratic Party Chairman with the help of Michael Madigan.
