Copenhagen Consensus’ Bjorn Lomborg doesn’t want you to believe all the hype when it comes to climate change.

“The idea that everything is going to get worse with climate change and everything will be harder when we get climate change is wrong,” Lomborg said during a recent appearance on Chicago’s Morning Answer. “To only carry one part of it is a very bad way to influence us and is actually only a way to scare us.”

Lomborg stressed he’s not arguing climate change doesn’t exist, just that he doesn’t think people are being told everything there is to know about how it stands to ultimately impact them.

“We need to know both the ups and downs and we need to know the science of this,” he said. “Fewer and fewer people are now dying from weather-related disasters related to climate, not because there’s no climate change but because we’ve gotten richer and are much more able to handle it.”
