UNFINISHED BUSINESS:
1. Art on Fire – Sergeant Pearse stated that the Village Board authorized this community event regarding the painting of fire hydrants. Sergeant Pearse stated that he is hoping to start this project in the downtown area. Advertisement would be done through the Cherry Valley Police Department Facebook Page and by word of mouth. Painting would begin in July so that the hydrants would be ready for judging during the National Night Out event. Sergeant Pearse stated that he thinks they’ll charge around $20 for the hydrants and depending on how many people participated would depend on what the final prize amount would be. Sergeant Pearse is hoping that this will be a way to get more people involved and excited about National Night Out.
2. National Night Out – Sergeant Pearse stated that there are no new updates at this time except that The Village of Cherry Valley is registered to host National Night Out on August 3, 2021. Officer Fulton will work on getting a K-9 demonstration and see if the rescue helicopter can come to Cherry Valley this year.
3. Movie Night Update – Consensus from the committee is to donate the recreation board’s budgeted amount of $550.00 for Movie Night to the Cherry Valley Library District to use towards their Second Saturday Cinema Events as well as donate the recreation committee’s members time and the use of the Village’s popcorn machine and popcorn. Jill Wedig will email the library with the recreation boards decision. Jill Wedig moved to request $550.00 for the donation to the Cherry Valley Library District to use for their Second Saturday Cinema event. Dina Brandt seconded. All “AYE” none opposed. Motion carried by voice vote.
