City of Wheaton Planning and Zoning Board met Dec. 14.

Here is the agenda provided by the board:

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

Zoning Application #21-26. The City of Wheaton is proposing amendments to the text of the Wheaton Zoning Ordinance, Articles II, VII, VIII, IX, X, XI, XII, XIII, and XIV to remove spacing requirements for the location of Group Care Homes in the R-1, R-2, R-3, R-4, R-5, R-6, and R-7 Residential Districts and from the I-1 Institutional District, and to remove the reference to a spacing requirement in the definition of Group Care Home. Currently, the City requires Group Care Homes to not be located within a certain number of feet of another Group Care Home. Those current spacing requirements are: 1,000 feet in the R-1 Residential District; 700 feet in the R-2 Residential District; 500 feet in the R-3 and R-4 Residential Districts and in the I-1 Institutional District; and 300 feet in the R-5, R-6, and R-7 Residential Districts. 

At the public hearing, anyone wishing to make a public statement will be encouraged to do so. Written comments may be submitted to the Board prior to or at the public hearing. A copy of the application is available for review in the office of the Director of Planning and Economic Development, 303 West Wesley Street, Wheaton, Illinois during normal business hours.
