The Northwest Side GOP is hosting an open house for its new headquarters.
"On Thursday, April 14, we are hosting an OPEN HOUSE for the CHICAGO GOP - NORTHSIDE GOP - 43rd Ward Republicans new office in Lincoln Park!” the Northwest Side GOP said in an email. “You are welcome to join us at 2463 N Lincoln and enjoy a drink while you enjoy the conversation and take a look at the new Republican Headquarters, from 7 to 8:30 p.m."
The event invite was also posted on the organization's website where an RSVP form is also available.
"Anyone hanging around at 8:30 p.m. can join us as we walk across the street to the Red Lion to continue the conversations!" the invite stated.
Matt Podgorski, the founder of the Northwest Side GOP Club, is running on a "safe neighborhoods" and "lower taxes" platform in his campaign for Cook County commissioner, Chicago City Wire previously reported.
"Local families deserve to live in a healthy community where they can afford to raise their families and not fear for their safety," Podgorski said in a campaign announcement.
His campaign on fighting crimes is likely to resonate with Chicago residents given that increasing crime rates have been a regular source of concern.
Last year, the group mocked Gov. J.B. Pritzker for doubling the state’s gas taxes in 2019. In recent months, as gas prices have soared amid conflict in Ukraine and inflation, many others have criticized Pritzker and others for the country’s second-highest gas tax. "How high can it go?" the club said on Twitter at the time.
The group will also hold a Common Sense Gathering on April 22 at the Law & Order PAC Headquarters at 7231 W Touchy Ave. in Chicago. The event will also feature Chicago Alderman Anthony Napolitano. For tickets to that event visit www.mattpodgorski.com.
