DePaul women's soccer forward Katie Godden has been named to the Australian Women's National Team U20 training camp. Godden will train with the Australian team from May 30 to June 3. Godden will be making her first appearance at an Australian National Team training camp.
"Katie is a young player with exceptional talent and a ton of potential," said DePaul head coach Michele O'Brien. "She is very deserving of this opportunity and we wish her the best of luck. We want her to know that her Blue Demon family is rooting for her."
The U20 women's national team is ramping up training ahead of the U20 World Cup, which starts in Costa Rica in August. Godden is coming off a freshman campaign in Chicago that saw her make eight starts and appear in 18 games for the Blue Demons. Godden scored her first-career collegiate goal in the DePaul season finale at Marquette on October 28.
Godden, a Surrey, England native, has Australian citizenship after being raised in the nation during a portion of her childhood. Godden is one of six international players on the roster for Michele O'Brien's Blue Demons. DePaul will also welcome Freya Jupp from England and Lina Dantes from Germany as incoming freshmen later this fall.
