Darren Bailey, Republican candidate for Illinois Governor, addressed the members of Bharatiya Senior Citizens of Chicago during his visit.

He urged the community to support him and help improve the state.

"We need real change and new leadership and with the support of the great people involved with the Bharatiya Senior Citizens of Chicago, we will be able to restore Illinois"

Bailey also expressed gratitude for the support he received for his call for real change in Illinois.

"Thank you to the Bharatiya Senior Citizens of Chicago for hosting us," Bailey said. "We enjoyed meeting everyone and talking about how to turn our great state around."

The Bharatiya Senior Citizens of Chicago is a senior citizen’s center with members tracing their roots in India. The club is currently headed by its President Haribhai Patel. It held a talent show earlier this year. Approximately 700 seniors attended the show, with 40 chosen to perform Bollywood songs, gazal dance, instrument playing, garba and acting performances.

An annual picnic was recently hosted by the group. The Bharatiya Senior Citizens of Chicago group "has active senior members and a reputation for providing community services to the elders in the area. Many such activities are organized to keep the seniors connected in the adopted land, " a narrator on a video said.

Bailey has been busy traveling throughout Illinois, visiting numerous organizations, youth groups, and institutions of many types to preach his message of wanting real change in Illinois. “We cannot continue with the failed policies of status quo politicians.”

Recently, Bailey has also cited incumbent Governor JB Pritzker's lack of focus on the state's agriculture by also saying it is the backbone of the economy of Illinois.

“Our home’s in trouble thanks to fat cat leaders like Joe Biden and J.B. Pritzker.," Bailey said WTTW reported. "You can’t clear a field of weeds if you don’t pull them out by the roots friends, and the only way to fix Illinois is to fire J.B. Pritzker and get the problem out by the roots.”
