About the Crime:
This alert gives notice to residents/citizens of the 008th District (Chicago Lawn) of an increase in Robbery related incidents during the month of October. In these incidents, the offender, armed with a firearm, approaches the victims and demands property. These incidents have occurred in the general geographical locations listed below:
Incident times and locations:
5600 Block of S. Sawyer on October 03, 2022 at approximately 08:30 P.M.
5500 Block of S. Homan on October 03, 2022 at approximately 09:00 P.M.
5500 Block of S. Washtenaw on October 04, 2022 at approximately 07:47 P.M.
5800 Block of S. Troy on October 07, 2022 at approximately 02:00 P.M.
Offender Description:
Male-African American, 5'04 to 5'10, 160 lbs, 28 to 45 years of age.
What you can do:
• Always be aware of your surroundings.
• Report suspicious activity immediately.
• If you are confronted by an assailant, remain calm.
• Remember any unique physical characteristics (scars, limp, acne, teeth, etc.).
• Never pursue a fleeing assailant; provide the information to the police.
• If approached by a witness to the incident, request contact information.
• Dial 9-1-1 immediately and remain on scene when possible.
