Robberies 19th District (Town Hall)

About the crime:

This alert gives notice to residents in the 19th District (Town Hall) of recently reported robbery incidents. In each incident, the victims enter the offenders' vehicle, at which time they are driven to a secondary location and robbed of their personal belongings, including cellphones and wallets. The victims are then ordered out of the vehicle and were unharmed in each incident to date. However, in one of the incidents, one of the offenders produced a handgun before ordering the victim into a waiting vehicle. These incidents occurred on Beat 1924.

Incident times and locations:

• 3500 block of N. Clark St on October 15, 2022 at 12:15 a.m.

• 3400 block of N. Clark St on October 16, 2022 at 12 a.m.

• 1100 block of W. Addison St on October 16, 2022 at 1:15 a.m.

About the offenders:

The offenders are described as 1-3 African American males, 25-32 years old, wearing dark clothing. In one of the incidents, one of the offenders was armed with a

dark-colored handgun.

What you can do:

• Be aware of these crimes and alert family and friends who live or patronize the area.

• Be aware of your surroundings and free from distractions.

• If you are confronted by an assailant, remain calm.

• Pay attention to suspicious individuals or vehicles in the area.

• Remember any unique physical characteristics (scars, tattoos, acne, limps, etc.).

• If approached by a witness to the incident, request contact information.

• Call 911 immediately and provide a detailed description of any suspicious people, including any vehicle description and license plate information.
