About the Crime:
This alert gives notice to residents in the 024st District of recent occasions in which victims legally park their vehicles on the street and when they return to retrieve vehicle, they discover vehicle is gone. Victims observe broken glass on the street where the vehicle had been parked.

• 2100 block of W. Hood on October 17, 2022 from 5:00pm -7:00 am.
• 6100 block of N. Hamilton on October 17, 2022 from 5:00 pm till 7:30 am
• 6200 block of N Hoyne on October 17, 2022 from 8:00 pm till 7:00 am
• 2100 block of W Norwood on October 19, 2022 from 12:00 am till 6:00 am
• 6100 block of N Campbell on October 19, 2022 from 12:00 am till 6:00 pm
• 2200 block of W Rosemont on October 19, 2022 from 1:00 am till 6:00 am
• 6300 block of N Artesian on October 19, 2022 06:38 am
• 6300 block of N Talman on October 20, 2022 11:50 pm

What you can do:
• Park in well-lit areas away from larger vehicles, trees, and bushes that may offer privacy for a thief to break into vehicle.
• Make sure you have a copy your license plate and vehicle identification (VIN) numbers. If your vehicle is stolen, police will need this information promptly.
• Pay special attention to suspicious individuals in the area and alert the police
• Call 911 immediately if you are a victim or witness to a crime and provide a detailed description of the offender(s) including any physical/clothing identifiers in addition to any vehicle description and license plate information
