About the Crime:
This alert gives notice to residents in the 009th district (Deering) of armed robbery related incidents which have occurred during the month of November. In these incidents, one armed African American Male offender brandishes a handgun as they approach the victims and take property. Incident times and locations are listed below:
Incident date and times:
- 5400 Block of South Loomis on November 21, 2022 at 5:18PM.
- 5400 Block of South Loomis on November 26, 2022 at 10:46AM.
- 5400 Block of South Bishop on November 26, 2022 at 10:50AM.
Offender Description:
One (1) armed unknown African American Male/5'08-5'10, 125-150lbs., 16-20 years, gray sweater, gray pants/jeans
What you can do:
- Always be aware of your surroundings
- Report suspicious activity immediately
- If you are confronted by an assailant remain calm
- Remember any unique physical characteristics (scars, limp, acne, teeth, etc...)
- Never pursue a fleeing assailant, provide the information to the police
- If video surveillance equipment is present, please save a copy of the incident for investigating detectives
- If approached by a witness to the incident, request contact information
- Dial 9-1-1 immediately and remain on scene when possible
- Do NOT leave keys in your vehicle with the vehicle running.
