Darrione Rogers recorded the sixth triple-double in DePaul women's basketball history on Monday afternoon as the Blue Demons took down Howard 81-56 on Wintrust Junior Savers Club Field Trip Day.
With over 6,000 school children in attendance, Rogers put on a dazzling performance with 22 points to go along with a career-high 11 assists and 10 rebounds.
Jorie Allen pitched in a career-high 21 points in addition to nine rebounds while Anaya Peoples tallied her second double-double of the season with 10 points and 11 rebounds. Kendall Holmes rounded out a quartet of Blue Demons in double figures with 17 points.
The Blue Demons grabbed a season-high 53 rebounds and saw a +16 margin on the boards while also dishing out 25 assists on 33 made field goals.
Howard (3-7) came out with energy from the jump, using a 7-0 run to take a 12-7 lead before the Blue Demons answered with a seven-point run of their own to take a three-point edge into the media timeout. After a quarter of action, DePaul held a 26-22 advantage.
In the second quarter Allen had her way inside, scoring eight of DePaul's 12 points. The Blue Demons held the Bison to just a pair of field goals and took a 38-26 advantage into the locker room.
DePaul (8-3, 1-0 BIG EAST) stretched its lead to 20 in the latter stages of the third quarter to bring a 62-42 lead into the final 10 minutes of play.
The fourth quarter saw Howard score six points in the first 90 seconds to trim a 20-point lead to 14. The Blue Demons responded with a 13-2 run over the next four and a half minutes to widen the lead to 75-50 and close out their seventh win in the last eight games.
Destiny Howell finished with 22 points to lead the Bison.
