Following a stretch of three-straight road games, the DePaul men's basketball team returns home, Wednesday, Dec. 29 as they welcome the Georgetown Hoyas to Wintrust Arena. Tipoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. CT on FS2 with Wayne Randazzo and Lavall Jordan on the call. Zach Zaidman and Dave Corzine will have the radio call on DePaulBlueDemons.com.
SCOUTING DEPAUL
DePaul (6-7, 0-2 BIG EAST) returns to Wintrust Arena for the first time since Dec. 10. The Blue Demons were last in action on Christmas Day where they dropped an 80-65 road matchup to Creighton.
Despite the loss, DePaul saw the return of Yor Anei and Jalen Terry from injury. Terry made an impact with a season-high 14 points in addition to three assists and three steals. Javan Johnson continues to be the leading scorer for the Blue Demons with 16.9 points per game. Johnson enters Thursday's game just nine points away from 1,000 in his career.
THE SERIES
Georgetown holds the advantage in the all-time series, 33-13, including a 15-6 record in Chicago. The Blue Demons however have controlled it in recent years, winning four of the last six meetings. DePaul won both matchups of the 2021-22 season, including an 82-74 win at home.
SCOUTING GEORGETOWN
Georgetown (5-8, 0-2 BIG EAST) looks to halt a three-game skid of its own as they are coming off losses to Syracuse, Xavier and UConn. The Hoyas are led by Primo Spears who is averaging 17.7 points per game and ranks second in the BIG EAST. Akok Akok, a UConn transfer, ranks third in the conference and 27th nationally in blocks per game.
Patrick Ewing is in his sixth year at the helm of the Georgetown program with a 73-92 career record.
UP NEXT
DePaul will ring in the new year with a 1:30 p.m. matchup against Providence on FS1. Single-game tickets for the Jan. 1 matchup and future games can be purchased at DePaulBlueDemons.com/Tickets.
