Umoja Gibson scored a game-high 24 points in Tuesday night's 81-76 loss to Georgetown. Gibson shot 8-of-11 from the floor and added four assists and three steals in his 25th career 20+ game. Javan Johnson joined Gibson in double-digit scoring with 13 points and five rebounds.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Umoja Gibson opened the game 4-of-4 for nine points as DePaul (9-12, 3-7 BIG EAST) went on an 8-0 run for a 24-21 lead with eight minutes left in the half. After Georgetown jumped back in front, DePaul ended the half on a 7-0 run for a 37-36 lead.
Georgetown outscored DePaul 17-9 to open the season half, taking a 53-46 lead. DePaul held Georgetown without a field goal for a four-minute stretch that put the Blue Demons ahead one, 58-57. From there, the Hoyas responded and took a 60-58 lead that they would not relinquish.
DePaul pulled back within striking distance on a fast break layup by Gibson and a three from Caleb Murphy but Georgetown clinched the game on a pair of free throws.

- DePaul was previously 7-0 this season when leading at halftime.
