Armed Robbery - Handguns Districts – 12 and 14

About the Crime: 

This alert gives notice to residents of the 012th and 014th Districts of recent armed robberies, in which the victims are approached by the offenders who display handguns, point the guns at the victims, and demand their personal property (wallet, money, laptops and cellphone). The offenders are seen driving a 2020 Hyundai Tucson Illinois 

Registration: CV47270. Maroon or Burgundy in color. That vehicle appears to have its 

passenger side rear window broken out and what appears to be a jacket or sweatshirt securing the window. 

Incident time and location: 

• 1500 Block of North Kedzie Ave on March 8, 2023 @ 12:35 PM 

• 2600 Block of West Thomas Ave on March 8, 2023 @ 1:29 PM 

• 1300 Block of North Rockwell Ave on March 8, 2023 @ 1:38 PM 

Offender Description: 

3 male African American subjects, 15-20 years of age, wearing masks and hooded sweatshirts armed with silver and black handguns. 

What you can do: 

• Be aware of your surroundings and unfamiliar or suspicious people in your area. 

• Do not try to rationalize or confront offenders, it could lead to possible injury 

• Park in well-lit areas and in areas where there is pedestrian and vehicular traffic 

• Notify neighbors of this crime pattern. If you see something suspicious, alert police immediately. 

• Call 911 immediately if you are a victim or witness to a crime and provide a detailed description of the offender(s) and involved vehicles.
