Chicago voter turnout in Illinois’ April 4 Consolidated Election was 558,547, or about 35% of 1,587,153 registered voters.
That's according to the Chicago Board of Elections' unofficial results.
Citywide, between 2011 and 2023, the number of ballots cast declined by 36,187. Over the same time period, the number of registered voters increased by 181,116.
Chicago voters cast 2% more ballots -- an increase of 31,661 -- in 2023 than in the last mayoral election, in April 2019.
Typically, Consolidated Elections include contests for elected office in cities and villages, parks, library and fire protection districts and school boards.
