City of Prospect Heights Police & Fire Commission met Feb. 22

CALL TO ORDER – At 4:08 PM, Chairman Hoffman called to order the Regular Fire Police Commission Meeting at City Hall, 8 N Elmhurst Road, Prospect Heights, IL 60070.
ROLL CALL – Deputy Clerk Schultheis called roll. A quorum was present.
COMMISSIONERS PRESENT - Chairman Hoffman - Commissioners Riebman and Fiorito (electronically at 4:09 PM)
OTHER OFFICIALS PRESENT - Deputy Police Chief Derman, Deputy Clerk Schultheis
Commissioner Riebman moved to allow Commissioner Fiorito to join the meeting electronically; seconded by Chairman Hoffman.
ROLL CALL VOTE:
AYES - Hoffman, Riebman
NAYS - None
ABSENT - None
ABSTAIN - Fiorito

APPROVAL OF MINUTES -
A. Approval of the Regular January 25, 2023 Meeting Minutes - Commissioner Riebman moved to approve the Regular January 25, 2023 Fire Police Commission Minutes as presented; seconded by Chairman Hoffman. There was unanimous approval.

NEW BUSINESS
A. Approval of the 2022 Stipends - Commissioner Riebman moved to approve the 2022 Stipends as presented; seconded by Chairman Hoffman.. There was unanimous approval.

OLD BUSINESS - None
DEPARTMENTAL UPDATES/CORRESPONDENCE - Deputy Chief Derman said that the two new officers are doing well, and have completed their training.
Sgt. Godair is on medical leave, and has been given approval to see three different doctors for evaluation.
There is a very strong candidate for P/T officer. The Department is awaiting the results of his psych evaluation. He is a 24 year veteran of the CPD.
The Department will be looking for a third detective after Sgt. Godair leaves. After the three medical appointments, the Police Pension Board will convene to make a recommendation.

The Next Regular Meeting of the Fire Police Commission is scheduled for Wednesday, March 29, 2023 at 4 PM, City Hall, 8 North Elmhurst Road, Prospect Heights, IL 60070.
ADJOURNMENT - At 4:14 PM, Commissioner Riebman moved to Adjourn; seconded by Chairman Hoffman.. There was unanimous approval.
